Privacy Policy

What we collect

  • Photos you upload — solely to perform your restoration.
  • Account data (only if you sign up) — email address and a salted password hash. We cannot see your password.
  • Usage data — restoration counts, success/failure, approximate region from IP for abuse prevention, browser type.
  • Cookies — a functional cookie to remember your free-credit balance and login session. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How photos are processed

Your photo is sent to our AI processing partner (Alibaba Cloud Model Studio) to generate the restoration, under an enterprise agreement that prohibits use of customer data for model training. The transmission is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Restored results are returned to you and stored on our servers so you can download them.

Deletion

Uploaded photos and restoration outputs are automatically deleted within 7 days of processing. Account data is deleted on request. To delete your account and all associated data, email hello@photounfade.com.

What we never do

  • Never sell your data or photos
  • Never use your photos to train AI models
  • Never publish or share your photos
  • Never use advertising trackers

Payments

Payments are handled by our merchant of record. We never see or store your card details. The merchant of record processes payments in compliance with PCI-DSS and handles tax obligations; their privacy terms apply to the checkout itself.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including GDPR in Europe/UK and CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and to object to processing. Exercise any right by emailing hello@photounfade.com — we respond within 30 days, usually far sooner.

Data location

Servers are operated in Singapore. Photos in transit and at rest are encrypted. Retention is limited to the 7-day deletion window described above.

Children

The service is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions), and we do not knowingly collect their data. Family photos may of course depict minors — such images are processed solely for your restoration and deleted on the same schedule.
