1. The service

PhotoUnfade ("we", "us") provides an AI-powered photo restoration service accessible through your web browser at photounfade.com. By using the service you agree to these terms.

2. Accounts

You may use the free tier without an account. If you create an account you are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account. You must provide a valid email address.

3. Credits and payment

One credit restores one photo. Free credits are provided as stated at checkout and do not expire during the free tier. Paid plans add credits as described on the pricing page. Payments are processed by our merchant of record, which is the seller of record for all transactions and handles applicable taxes (VAT/GST/sales tax). Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. We do not use weekly billing or hidden trial conversions.

5. Your photos and content

You retain all rights to the photos you upload. You grant us a limited license to process them solely to provide your restoration. We do not use your photos to train AI models, sell them, or publish them. Uploaded photos and results are automatically deleted within 7 days. You are responsible for downloading results you want to keep.

6. Acceptable use

PhotoUnfade is intended solely for restoring family and personal photographs. You agree not to use the service to process, restore, enhance, colorize or otherwise manipulate any of the following, all of which are strictly prohibited:

  • Adult, NSFW, pornographic, nude, sexual or sexually explicit imagery — including any image depicting nudity, exposed genitals, sexual acts, or sexually suggestive or provocative content;
  • Any sexualized image of a minor (a person who is or appears to be under 18), in any form, including restored, enhanced, colorized or AI-modified versions. We have a zero-tolerance policy, report such material to NCMEC and/or law enforcement, and preserve evidence as required by law;
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery of any real person;
  • Face-swap, deepfake or face-manipulation of real people, or any deceptive likeness;
  • Graphic violence, hateful content, unlawful material, or images you do not have the rights or consent to process;
  • Any attempt to reverse-engineer or abuse the service, circumvent credit limits, or use restored output for fraud or deception.

Every upload is automatically screened by a content-safety classifier before processing; images flagged as prohibited are blocked, not restored and not stored. Credits spent on policy-violating uploads are not refunded. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section without notice or refund. The full details are in our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

7. AI limitations — important

AI restoration reconstructs damaged areas probabilistically. On heavily damaged photos, reconstructed details are plausible interpretations, not forensic recoveries. Results vary with input quality. The service is provided "as is"; we do not guarantee that any particular photo can be restored to your satisfaction — which is why free restorations exist, so you can judge before paying.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the site or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
